First Annual Jefferson Postdoctoral Research Symposium

The Jefferson Postdoctoral Association and the JCGS Office of Postdoctoral Affairs will host the first ever Jefferson Postdoctoral Research Symposium on Monday, May 15th, 2006. Held in Rooms 101, 105, and 107 of the Bluemle Life Science Building (233 S 10th Street, Philadelphia PA 19107) this event will showcase the research of Jefferson postdocs.

Symposium Presentation Award Winners

Selected abstracts will be delivered as oral presentations. All other abstracts will be presented as posters. Prizes will be given by the JCGS Alumni Association.

The keynote speaker, Dr. Christopher Austin, will speak at 4:00 pm. Dr. Austin is the Senior Advisor to the Director for Translational Research at the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) and Director of the NIH Chemical Genomics Center.

Attendees at this event will be able to interact with representatives of regional employers, including GlaxoSmithKline, Merck, Wyeth, and Astra Zeneca. Information on newly available research tools and financial services will be provided by Clontech, Roche, Freedom Credit Union, and Hudson United Bank.

All are invited to view the posters, attend the talks, and meet the postdoc presenters and industry representatives throughout the day. There will be an awards ceremony and reception following Dr. Austin’s lecture.
