The Greater Philadelphia Schweitzer Fellowship Program was created in 2006 to encourage individuals to emulate Dr. Albert Schweitzer's example of service and promote his ethic of reverence for life. To accomplish this, the Fellowship Program provides community service opportunities for health professions students who want to help people in the Tri-state area whose needs are not being met by the healthcare system. The Schweitzer Fellowship Program selects outstanding students from the area's health professions colleges and universities who are committed to service projects that benefit vulnerable local communities that lack adequate access to healthcare.
Nationwide, the Albert Schweitzer Fellowship helps hundreds of graduate students each year dedicate their time and service to helping others. The program relies on contributions from individuals, foundations, corporations, professional societies, schools, and hospitals to perpetuate projects and sustain fellows. Contributions from generous donors sustain these projects and bring to Greater Philadelphia the reverence for life that inspired Albert Schweitzer. Specifically, we are seeking your sponsorship of one or more fellows at a cost of $5000 per sponsored fellow. Below is a list of sponsorship levels.
