ODAMA's Mission

Through its recruitment efforts, ODAMA serves to create a pipeline of qualified underrepresented students to JMC while strengthening its diversity efforts. In addition, ODAMA has established an institutional framework that acknowledges diversity and promotes educational programs that increase awareness, understanding and sensitivity to the needs of all individuals regardless of age, class, physical ability, gender, race, religion or sexual preference. ODAMA serves to provide students with a cooperative, safe and supportive environment.

To achieve its mission, the Office of Diversity and Minority Affairs (ODAMA) has established
the following goals:

  1. To define acceptable conduct for a Jefferson Community
  2. To strengthen existing diversity and to increase its scope
  3. To increase communication among the various groups around campus and the community at-large
