Bioscience Technologies Prerequisites

Prerequisites

Before you can enroll in any of the bioscience technologies programs, the following courses are required:

Course Clarification: All science courses must be completed within 10 years of application to Jefferson. Courses must be completed with a grade of “C” or above to be eligible for transfer. A grade of “C-“ or below will not be eligible for transfer.

In addition to meeting all academic requirements, students must meet all technical standards for the program. Refer to the online catalog for details or 215-503-8890.

 

1Suggested biological or chemical sciences courses include, but are not limited to General Biology, General Chemistry, and Anatomy & Physiology.
2College Algebra or Higher
3A course in Statistics, Physics, Bioinformatics or similar coursework is recommended. Cannot be remedial or review in nature and cannot be Physical Education or Technical courses. May include Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, Sciences, and Foreign Languages.

** CREDITS MAY BE PART OF OR IN ADDITION TO A BACHELOR’S DEGREE FROM AN ACCREDITED
INSTITUTION.
*** A BS OR POST-BACCALAUREATE CERTIFICATE IN BIOTECHNOLOGY, CYTOTECHNOLOGY,
MEDICAL LABORATORY SCIENCE OR OTHER APPROVED LABORATORY DISCIPLINE IS REQUIRED.

NOTE: GRADUATES OF ASSOCIATE DEGREE MLT, VT, BT OR SIMILAR PROGRAMS MAY TRANSFER TECHNICIAN COURSEWORK CREDITS TO SATISFY THE BIOLOGICAL/CHEMICAL SCIENCES AND ELECTIVE PREREQUISITES.
