Overview
Students who have a BS with at least 30 science credits can earn a graduate certificate to gain mastery of the technical and analytical skills in Immunohematology (Bloodbanking).
Immunohematologists type and cross-match blood from donors and recipients and analyze specific blood products for use in blood-component therapy. Bloodbanking (immunohematology and transfusion medicine) has become increasingly complicated as therapy using individual blood components is more in demand than therapy using whole blood.
