Human Resources Development (HRD) offers programs and services to assist members of the Jefferson community in meeting workplace challenges and achieving organizational goals. Our core functions and responsibilities include:
New Employee Orientation & Onboarding
HRD offers New Employee Orientation two times each month and invites new employees back for an informal “check-in” within 45 days.
Jefferson Learning & Development Center
Each Spring and Fall, a Learning and Development Guide is published and courses in Management Development, Professional Development and Administrative Briefings are offered to all staff, free of charge.
Jefferson Learning and Development Center Resource Library
Our Learning Resource Library lends work-related videos, DVDs, and self-directed learning guides to individuals and departments upon request
Management Development
In addition to the many management development courses offered through the Learning Guide, HRD also offers required management courses as warranted by organizational goals and priorities.
Management Coaching
HRD is available to consult with managers or faculty on issues such as performance appraisal, leadership competencies, communicating with staff, teamwork, conflict resolution, and planning educational programs.
Customized Workshops and Learning & Development Programs
HRD will develop and deliver “just-in-time” training programs to departments and teams upon request
Team Building
HRD will collaborate with departments to design programs and strategies that will increase cooperation and communication among staff members
Organizational Development initiatives
HRD will partner with management to hold focus groups, conduct team assessments, and assist with work group change management activities
Retreats/Staff Development Programs
HRD can help departments plan presentations and design activities, assist in facilitating the event, and clarify program outcomes
Service Excellence Education
HRD offers Service Excellence training programs monthly and will customize a service program for your department upon request
