Non-degree status enrollment provides a vehicle by which individuals with a bachelor's degree or higher can enroll in a limited number of courses for credit without formally being accepted to a master's or doctoral program.
A listing of courses available to non-degree students can be obtained from the Graduate Office. Students who wish to take a course as a non-degree student must meet the prerequisites for the course and obtain the approval of the course coordinator or an Associate Dean.
A completed registration form, with signed approval by the course coordinator or an Associate Dean, must be submitted to the College of Graduate Studies Office, M-46 Jefferson Alumni Hall. Forms without the required signatures will not be accepted for registration. An undergraduate transcript and a completed personal data form are also required.
The maximum number of credits a student may take in non-degree status is thirteen (13). Non-degree students who wish to apply to an approved graduate program should refer to the section on General Admissions Requirements in the CGS Catalog.
Non-degree students may enroll for a maximum period of two years (6 semesters) and may register for no more than seven (7) credits in any one semester.
Non-degree students shall pay a fee for tuition which is set by the College on a per credit basis.
