Dean Erdmann Named ASAHP Fellow

James B. Erdmann, PhD, Dean of Jefferson College of Health Professions at Thomas Jefferson University, was named a Fellow of the Association of Schools of Allied Health Professions (ASAHP) at a recent meeting of its Executive Board. He is one of three individuals chosen to receive this recognition for the year 2008.

The Fellows Program Award seeks to stimulate excellence within allied health by recognizing ASAHP members who have made significant contributions to allied health as administrators, educators, clinicians, or researchers.

To be eligible for this award, nominees must have been an ASAHP member for at least five years. Selection criteria include: demonstrated leadership, publication in professional journals and professional creativity.

Dr. Erdmann and the other award winners will be honored at an awards banquet on October 30, during the ASAHP Annual Conference in Baltimore, Maryland.

ASAHP’s mission is to champion allied health education. Some of the ways in which it works to fulfill this mission is by influencing governmental health and education policy, promoting high quality education, and promoting collaboration and partnership.
