Swan Co-Authored Book of the Year

Beth Ann Swan, PhD, CRNP, FAAN, Associate Professor and Associate Dean of the Graduate Program of the Jefferson School of Nursing, is co-author of an American Journal of Nursing 2008 Book of the Year in the Medical-Surgical Nursing category. The text book, Evidence-Based Nursing Care Guidelines: Medical–Surgical Interventions, is published by Mosby Elsevier. The other co-authors are Betty J. Ackley, Gail B. Ladwig, and Sharon J. Tucker.

Jefferson School of Nursing faculty members Maria Marinelli, RN; Tom Loveless, RN, MSN, CRNP; Cecilia Borden, RN, EdD; Karen Papastrat, RN, MSN; Joseph T DeRanieri, DM, MSN, RN, CPN, BCECR and Elizabeth Speakman, RN, EdD, CDE, ANEF also contributed chapters to the text.

Linda Honan Pellico, PhD, APRN, assistant professor, Yale, the judge of this category, described this text as: “a must-have resource for those in practice and academia who are concerned about providing high-quality care as well as a fabulous source of dissertation topics for those entering doctoral studies.”
