Jefferson School of Pharmacy White Coat Ceremony 2008 On October 10, 2008, the Jefferson School of Pharmacy held its first White Coat Ceremony.  The presentation of the white coats to students is symbolic of the students’ entry into the pharmacy profession and the opportunities and responsibilities associated with being a health care professional including their personal commitment to both the welfare of individual patients and welfare of our society. An inspirational keynote address, “Creating the JSP Legacy” was delivered by John A. Gans, PharmD, Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of the American Pharmacists Association. Members of the JSP Class of 2012 were presented with white coats by Cynthia Sanoski, PharmD, Chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Ashiwel Undieh, PhD, Chair of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences. They were led in the Oath of the Pharmacist by Elena Umland, PharmD, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.
