The professional nurse with the CSA specialty will focus on prevention and primary care. A variety of emerging healthcare organizations are demanding visionary nursing leaders in administrative roles. The nurse will gain knowledge and skills necessary to plan, design and evaluate healthcare programs in a variety of settings. The professional nurse with the CSA specialty focuses on prevention, program planning, leadership in administrative roles and has an overall population focus. The various settings for the CSA graduate are diverse, with examples including public health departments (local, state, federal health agencies), school health programs, community health centers, clinics, shelters, home health and hospice agencies, faith-based organizations, academic and research organizations, nursing centers and hospital administration.
Graduates of the CSA program are eligible for Advanced Public Health Nurse certification.
