Jefferson School of Nursing student Maxine Martin received an American Trauma Society, Pennsylvania Division Nursing Student Scholarship to attend the organization’s annual conference in April.
Ms. Martin is a second-degree nursing student in Jefferson’s Accelerated Pathway program and she will graduate with her bachelor of science in nursing degree in June. “I always wanted to be a nurse, but I earned my first degree in management,” she says. “Now I am achieving my dream and upon completion, I would like to work in ICU Trauma or Neuro ICU at AtlanticCare in Atlantic City.” While earning her degree, Ms. Martin has maintained her job in the emergency room at AtlanticCare. This summer she hopes to be working as a registered nurse.
