Version 1.5 (Phase II – 08/3/2005 )
What's New in Version 1.5
-
The underlying database is now running on Oracle instead
of Access, resulting in improved performance and stability,
and enabling linking/sharing data with other TJU Databases.
-
Faculty photos derived from ID Badges are now visible outside
of the TJU network.
-
The 'Search PubMed for Publications' button was removed
because it did not always identify the correct references.
Version 1.4
- Faculty may now upload their own image files. To add your
own image and make the image available to the general public,
[Login] and
click on the image area. You may then browse your local PC
for your image file and upload it to your profile page. Please
prepare your image in the JPEG (.jpg) format in the preferred
size of 150 pixels wide by 150 pixels high. All pictures
will be scaled the maximum width of 150 pixels.
Version 1.3
-
Faculty may update their own bibliography online. If you
identify an error or would like to add content to your profile,
please login using your Campus Key -- click [Login]
on the main search page.
-
Photos of most faculty are available. Faculty images were
derived from image files uploaded by the faculty in the COS
system or automatically from the ID Badge Database. Note: images
from the ID Badge System are NOT available to view from outside
of the University network.
- The 'Search PubMed for Publications' button automatically
performs a query against the PubMed database using the keywords
and faculty name. However, this feature is for convenience
and may not always identify the correct faculty member.

Phase III
The next version (Phase III) will link several fields within the database
(e.g., campus address, email address, faculty rank, etc.) to other
authoritative databases on campus. This capability is scheduled to
be completed by September, 2006.
