Inside Baseball with Al Goldis '68
Take a look inside Major League Baseball with former talent scout Al Goldis, BS ’68 Textile Management & Marketing!
Mr. Goldis will be joined by Jefferson Baseball Head Coach Pat Horvath for a conversation exploring his unique perspective on professional baseball beginning with his experiences as a player recruited to the Cincinnati Reds shortly after his freshman year in 1963. From his time playing with Pete Rose to his work behind the scenes as a scout, manager, coach, and executive with teams throughout the league, including the California Angels, Chicago White Sox, Milwaukee Brewers, Chicago Cubs, and New York Mets, Mr. Goldis has had a singular view at the sport.
Coach Horvath and Mr. Goldis will delve into the business side of baseball, the importance of clubhouse relationships with agents, and the costs of key decisions and will look ahead at the impact of the global COVID-19 pandemic on both professional and collegiate sports.
