Launch Party on August 8 for Evanescent Issue 5

Join us on Thursday, August 8, for a launch party for Evanescent Issue 5: The LGBTQ Experience. The party will take place at William Way LGBT Community Center (1315 Spruce Street, Philadelphia) from 6 - 8:30 pm.

At the event, authors of the latest issue will read their written submissions, sharing their personal experiences, poetry, and literary work. Following the readings, there will be an open mic. No RSVP is required.

Evanescent: A Journal of Literary Medicine is the journal of the Eakins Writing Project, where Jefferson community members write about lived experiences that surround the issue’s main theme. The journal provides a therapeutic experience for authors, allowing submitters to reflect on and heal from their lived experiences.

Previous issues of Evanescent have covered themes such as gun violence and living through the COVID-19 pandemic. We hope you will join us on August 8 as we celebrate the writers who submitted content for Evanescent and proudly shared their stories.
