Expanding the Fashion Narrative: Jefferson Libraries Adds the Fashion & Race Database to Collection
Calling all fashion and history buffs! A new tool available via the Jefferson Libraries, the Fashion and Race Database (FRD), offers essays, objects, reading lists, and more that expand the narrative of fashion beyond the Western world. The database works to “decentralize fashion” by amplifying the voices of marginalized figures and highlighting hushed narratives of fashion history. In the database, you can browse reading lists, exhibits, and documentaries that share fashion history.
Create your account on the Fashion and Race Database using your Jefferson email address. Explore fashion designer profiles, read essays and opinion pieces, watch lectures and panels, and more. Find fashion events in our area, listen to The Invisible Seam podcast, and more. Check out the Fashion and Race Database.
