Medical Practice Management
At a Glance
The 24-credit Certificate in Medical Practice Management prepares students for the management and administration of day-to-day operations of a health professions practice in both acute and ambulatory settings across the continuum of care. The curriculum encompasses key areas such as healthcare management, health systems and policy, finance, law, information systems, and quality improvement. It also includes a course in medical billing and coding, providing practical skills essential for the healthcare industry. The program concludes with an elective, allowing students to tailor their learning experience to their individual interests or career goals. The Certificate in Medical Practice Management prepares students for a variety of roles in healthcare management, enhancing their ability to navigate and succeed in the ever-evolving healthcare landscape.

- HSMX 301 Health Systems and Policy (3 cr.)
- HSMX 412 Healthcare Quality Improvement (3 cr.)
