Biography
Gabriella’s current research focuses on an integrated study of the material science, manufacturing, supply chain economics and sustainability of industrial and consumer products made from agricultural and waste biomass. Projects involve transforming biomass into engineered raw materials (biopolymers, nanoparticles, and composites) that can be used in the manufacturing of biodegradable consumer and industrial products made from renewable resources. Research activities include processing and charactering bio-based polymer composites, creating bacteria-generated polymers from agricultural waste, and characterizing hemp-derived nanofibers and their applications.
