Biography

Professor D. Bruce Hanes is an adjunct professor of the Bachelor of Science Program of Law and Society focused on courses around Philadelphia’s law and politics. In addition to teaching, Professor Hanes is the current Register of Wills and Clerk of the Orphans’ Court in Montgomery County. Prior to these positions he worked as a private practice attorney, specializing in civil litigation for thirty-seven years, served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Pennsylvania Department of Justice and as Hearing Officer for the Federal Employee Appeals Authority. Professor Hanes also served in the Army as a Turkish Translator for the National Security Agency. In his spare time he serves as the Attorney Advisor for the Little Flower High School Mock Trial Team and has lectured on the various legal issues related to the Civil War Era.
