Biography

Professor Kusy has over 20 years of history with the University, starting with her time as a Fashion Design student. After graduation, she launched a sustainable women’s wear line of one-of-a-kind pieces, and opened a vintage clothing boutique and gallery space in Philadelphia. Since then, she’s received her MS in Global Fashion Enterprise from Thomas Jefferson University, and for the last 13 years, she has devoted herself to teaching full time in in the undergraduate program. The focus of her professional practice is her line of sustainable and zero waste handwoven apparel and the work she does as an advocate within the sustainable fashion space. She finds joy and purpose in empowering the next generation of fashion designers to impact positive systemic change and is excited to continue her work fostering a curriculum centered around diversity, inclusivity, and sustainability.
