JCP Project Receives Recognition

Jefferson students presented their research at the recent PPA Annual Meeting and received the Poster of Distinction Award. This is year two of the project involving student outreach to recently discharged patients prescribed an opioid medication. The focus is on education to appropriately dispose of any medication no longer required. They found that more than half of the discharged patients had remaining medication once their treatment was complete. Their results contribute into other opioid projects being addressed. Students represented in the photo are Ashley Uy, Jessica Cao, Anthony Esposito all second year students. Many others contributed to the data collection.
