Biography

Dr. Stafford is a registered nurse with experience in leadership and responsibility for multiple department operations, healthcare quality administration, quality improvement, clinical outcomes, infection prevention, legal matters, and healthcare ethics in large health care systems, and academic medical centers.

Ms. Stafford is nationally recognized in regulatory and accreditation standards compliance, policy and procedure formation, program development, and a published writer.  She also served as the co-leader of the National Association of Healthcare Quality Competencies Commission Team and currently serves on the National Association of Healthcare Quality Research Team.  Currently, Dr. Stafford is a consultant with Quality Healthcare Partners, and has worked in hospitals, behavioral healthcare facilities, long term care facilities and currently with Thayer County Health Services in Hebron Nebraska. Dr. Stafford also teaches Healthcare Quality, Tools and Methods, to graduate students at JCPH.

Prior to consulting, she held positions as Director of Home Health care in a 600-bed long term care facility; Director of Quality Outcomes, and Palliative Care at University of Louisville Hospital; Chief Nursing Officer at the Louisville Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center;  National Director of Quality for Rescare, a program treating developmental disabilities; and Executive Director of Quality/Infection Control for Baptist Health Lexington. 

Ms. Stafford attended Alverno College in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and received a bachelor’s degree in Nursing. She received a master’s degree in Health Administration from Cardinal Stritch College in Milwaukee, and a PhD in Health Administration from Kennedy Western University, Thousand Oaks California, and an Executive Juris Doctorate Degree from Concord University School of Law.
