Biography
Maria is a well-being strategist with over 22 years of industry experience providing influential leadership, strategic direction, innovative program design, and effective implementation to help organizations improve workforce health and well-being. She serves as an industry thought leader to inspire collaborations and partnerships across all sectors and encourage the sharing of evidence-based practices and the latest research to help solve some of the most prominent challenges organizations face in achieving improved health and well-being of a workforce. Devoted to helping build new leaders, Maria serves or volunteers in roles to support employee development as a guest lecturer, leadership mentor, coach, and sponsor. She also serves as an industry advisor and Board member to support wellness for individuals and workplaces, empowering professionals to positively impact well-being within their organizations.
For over 16 years, Maria has worked in three large healthcare systems: Kaiser Permanente, Nemours Children’s Health System, and Sharp Healthcare in administrative leadership positions. Maria’s breadth of experience includes wellness policy development, negotiating safety, health, and wellness-related incentives, programs, and benefits, and leading efforts to improve a culture of health and well-being that enables the workforce to thrive.
