BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Namrata Grampurohit is an occupational therapist and holds an academic appointment in the College of Rehabilitation Sciences as an Associate Professor. She completed her occupational therapy training in India at the University of Mumbai where she worked with children with neurological conditions such as cerebral palsy and autism. She is multilingual with fluency in English, Hindi, and Marathi. After moving to the United States, she worked full time as a clinical staff occupational therapist in Seattle, WA in the areas of acute care, critical care, inpatient rehabilitation, and skilled nursing. She completed her PhD in 2016 at the University of Washington, Seattle with her dissertation focused on assessment of hand function in people with neurological conditions.

Dr. Grampurohit’s research interests include scale validation and development for different kinds of performance assessments, observational tests, and questionnaires. Her recent grants are in the spinal cord injury population through the Craig H. Neilsen Foundation. The research areas include developing an intervention fidelity measure of coaching, and validation of remote assessment of function.

Dr. Grampurohit will be teaching research methods courses within JCPH in the PhD program and actively working on research projects with students and faculty.
