BIOGRAPHY
Jean Marie “Gina” Rocha is a native Rhode Islander and is the former vice president of clinical affairs at the Hospital Association of Rhode Island. In this role, she led a variety of patient safety initiatives for hospitals and health systems across the state assisting with process improvement and compliance in Federal and state regulatory activities. Prior to joining the Hospital Association of Rhode Island, she served as the state’s director of the Board of Nursing responsible for the licensing and standards of nursing care for 20,000 nurses practicing in the state. Her 40-year nursing career has led to practicing in all settings across the continuum, from front line care giver, home health, and the payor industry. Gina is also president of a community nonprofit agency focusing on promoting financial literacy to close the wealth-health equity gap in Black and Brown communities. She earned her Bachelor of Nursing Degree from the University of Rhode Island and Master of Public Health from Boston University.
