BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Romanzi is an ObGyn physician and Public Health professional with decades of collaborative, reciprocal experience working in maternal/newborn and sexual/reproductive health in the USA and over 20 countries throughout Africa and South Asia. Her experience includes mentoring, clinical and public health research; quality improvement and assurance; clinical and public health education, skills training, curriculum development, systematic needs assessments, strategic planning, public-private partnerships for health equity and quality; and advocacy coalition-building.
In the United States, she is licensed to practice medicine and surgery in New York and Pennsylvania, with dual certification from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology; one for Obstetrics and Gynecology and another in the subspecialty of Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery. In addition to her position as Lecturer with the JCPH, she is also a Lecturer in the Department of Global Health and Social Medicine and Faculty in the Program in Global Surgery and Social Change at Harvard Medical School. She serves as an International Technical Advisor to the Global Affairs Division of Thomas Jefferson University and a Quality Assurance Specialist in severe maternal morbidity to the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene’s Maternal Health Quality Improvement Network.
