Research & Clinical Interests
Dr. Mainigi has broad research interests in arrhythmia mechanisms, approaches to cardiac ablation including new and evolving technologies, heart failure treatments and device therapy in cardiac patients. He is involved in numerous multicenter clinical trials and investigator-initiated studies. He has published extensively recently on the impact of COVID on arrhythmia development, use of anticoagulants and left atrial appendage closure for stroke reduction, impact of wearable defibrillators, use of impedance mapping in understanding arrhythmia mechanisms, approaches to reducing inappropriate ICD therapies, and disparities in arrhythmia care.
