Research & Clinical Interests
As a gynecologist who completed a fellowship in Infectious Diseases, I have used my training to focus my clinical care and also my research efforts on women with chronic vulvovaginal diseases. These conditions represent a broad array of conditions ranging from chronic or recurrent infections to many vulvovaginal skin or pain disorders. The program which I co-direct, the Jefferson Vulvovaginal Health Center, is one of the few places in the country that devotes all of its resources to helping women with these common yet difficult to treat conditions. Not surprisingly, the bulk of my research interests is related to these disorders. My publications have ranged from review papers to both prospective and retrospective studies of diagnostic and therapeutic modalities.
