I am interested in alloimmunization to red cell antigens, as well as the evanescence of these antibodies, and understanding the factors that contribute to these processes in different patient populations, including patients with sickle cell disease and myelodysplastic syndrome. I am also interested in how care fragmentation, especially in patients with sickle cell disease, can impact transfusion safety. Additionally, I am interested in graduate medical education and curriculum development, as well as increasing medical student exposure to the pathology subspecialties early in their education.
