DO NOT PUBLISH Pathology Program for Advanced Study

Department of Pathology Honors Society

The Department of Pathology, Anatomy and Cell Biology of Sidney Kimmel Medical College and the Association of Pathology Chairs (APC) have established a Pathology Honor Society to foster scholarship and excellence. This program officially recognizes second-year medical students with special aptitude and interest in the discipline of pathology. Students are encouraged to attend pathology conferences, view an autopsy, shadow a faculty mentor, and develop an independent research project. Students present their clinical case report or basic science research findings at a year-end Pathology Honors Symposium. It is anticipated that the quality of presentations will be at a level that would merit publication in a peer-reviewed journal. Successful completion of the Program for Advanced Study results in the distinction of “High Honors in Pathology” at Jefferson Medical College and induction into the Association of Pathology Chairs “National Pathology Honor Society”.
