Biography
James Alexander, MD is Professor of Surgery at Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Alexander earned his undergraduate degree at Yale University and his medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania. He completed a General Surgery residency at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, New Jersey, and a Vascular Surgery Fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Alexander is board-certified in General and Vascular Surgery as well as being credentialed as a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation and in Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatment. He founded the Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at Cooper University Hospital in 2000 and was an integral part of the team that founded the Cooper Medical School of Rowan University in 2012. His scholarly publications encompass vascular biology, management of vascular disease, and medical education. He serves as a member of the Jefferson Vascular Center, where he oversees the Wound Care Center.
