Jefferson & LVHN Employee Tuition Discounts
We improve lives.
As we continue to celebrate Jefferson’s bicentennial year, we are pleased to announce that Jefferson and LVHN colleagues will receive new tuition discounts for eligible programs at Thomas Jefferson University effective January 1, 2025.
A new Dependent Tuition Discount policy and a new Graduate Tuition Discount for employees provide two new ways that our institution supports its community and unlocks new opportunities to improve lives. These discounts provide employees and their eligible dependents improved access to Thomas Jefferson University’s world-renowned programs.
Available Benefits
Dependent Tuition Discount for Undergraduate Programs
Effective January 1, 2025, dependents (spouse and qualifying children/relatives) of Jefferson & LVHN employees will receive a 50% tuition discount for a variety of Thomas Jefferson University undergraduate degree programs.
- The discount covers degree-granting undergraduate programs offered by Thomas Jefferson University, with the following exceptions: College of Nursing, Medical Imaging & Radiation Sciences, Medical Laboratory Sciences & Biotechnology, Respiratory Therapy and accelerated online undergraduate programs.
Eligibility:
- Dependents (spouse, children or other relatives, as defined by the Internal Revenue Code) of active, non-bargaining unit, regular full-time or part-time Jefferson colleagues who have completed one year of full-time service or two consecutive years of part-time service are eligible for this discount.
- The discount does not apply to colleagues who are already eligible for legacy dependent tuition benefits.
- For more information, Jefferson employees can contact HRTuition@Jefferson.edu. LVHN employees can contact Edcor’s customer service line at 855-258-3499 or visit lvhn.tap.edcor.com.
Graduate Tuition Discount
Effective January 1, 2025, Jefferson colleagues who are employed by Thomas Jefferson University, Jefferson Health, Jefferson Health Plans, or the Lehigh Valley Health Network, may receive a tuition discount on specific graduate programs. For Jefferson and LVHN employees who are currently enrolled, there is no action you need to take. The discount will be applied for the Spring 2025 and subsequent terms.
- More than 130 Jefferson graduate programs qualify for this discount. The Graduate Tuition Discount is 15% for most graduate programs in the College of Population Health and 10% for most graduate programs in the other colleges. Refer to the list of "Excluded Graduate Programs" below.
- Note that employees who already receive a discount or reduced tuition rate for serving as preceptor (Nursing and Occupational Therapy) or adjunct faculty (Nursing) are not eligible for the additional discount. Employees will receive the highest discount rate for which they qualify.
Eligibility:
- If you receive a Jefferson or LVHN paycheck, you qualify for the graduate tuition discount. Students who are employed through Federal Work-Study, Institutional Work-Study and Graduate or Research Assistantship programs are not eligible for this discount.
- New employees must be processed in the HR system by the start of the term to receive the discount. Otherwise, the discount will be applied to the next term registered.
- These discounts are in addition to any existing Jefferson or LVHN tuition benefits. With the discount, your tuition benefits will go even farther!
- For questions about Tuition Assistance benefits:
- Jefferson employees: reference the Tuition page on ONE or contact Human Resources at HRTuition@jefferson.edu.
- LVHN employees: reference LVHN’s Tuition Reimbursement Plan (PDF, LVHN employees only). Employees covered by a collective bargaining agreement should refer to their agreement for eligibility.
