Thomas Jefferson University and the University of the Arts have a shared history dating back nearly 150 years. Both were established as part of the Pennsylvania Museum and School of Industrial Art, which was founded soon after the 1876 Centennial Exposition in Philadelphia. The textiles department of that school broke off into the Philadelphia Textile School, later known as Philadelphia University and merged with Thomas Jefferson University in 2017. The rest of the original school became the University of the Arts, while the museum became the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

We're still reviewing applications for the Fall 2024 semester. Students who apply by June 30 will receive priority consideration for scholarships ranging from $13,000 - $23,500 per academic year.

Transfer Admissions

Degree Pathways

To ease the transfer process, we're waiving our $50 application fee and only require official transcript(s) to be reviewed for admission. Admissible students are eligible for academic scholarships ranging from $16,000 - $22,000 per year (exclusions apply for our Traditional BSN, Medical Imaging & Radiation Sciences, Medical Laboratory Sciences & Biotechnology and Respiratory Therapy Entry into Practice programs).
