In her role as one of four Student Affairs Deans, Dr. Kristin DeSimone provides academic, personal and career counseling to medical students during their four years of school. In academic advising, she not only provides individual counseling to students who struggle in any given course, but also provides general study tips to all students, including USMLE examinations. She runs Career Day to provide students an opportunity to interact with faculty and alumni in various specialties and advises students as they apply to and interview in specific residency fields. She meets individually with one-fourth of each class each year, serving as a general support person for medical students during the many stressors of medical school.
