Student Exchange Program
The Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences & Biotechnology conducts a Student/Faculty Exchange Program with Kitasato University in Sagamihara-shi, Japan.
Each year, two or three Japanese Laboratory Science students visit our department for three weeks, usually during March. In May-June, two or three of our students visit Kitasato University. Thomas Jefferson University students attend classes at Kitasato University, sightsee and enjoy a "total immersion" in Japanese customs and culture.
Participation in the Exchange Program is competitive. Eligibility is based on:
- Academic performance.
- Ability to represent our university.
- Potential to have meaningful learning and social experiences.
Students may apply for funding to support their trip through the university's Foerderer Scholarships for International Study.
