BS in Respiratory Therapy: Degree Advancement
A two-year fully online Bachelor of Science program that allows licensed Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRT) who have completed an associate degree in Respiratory Therapy at an accredited CoARC program to earn a BS in Respiratory Therapy.
Program Goals
For the Degree Advancement BSRT Program
To provide graduates of entry into respiratory care professional practice degree programs with additional knowledge, skills and attributes in leadership, management, education, research or advanced clinical practice both to meet their current professional goals and to prepare them for practice as advanced degree respiratory therapists.
Admission Prerequisites
Before applying to Jefferson, please review the prerequisites required for admission into the BS in Respiratory Therapy.
- Earned an Associate of Science in Respiratory Therapy degree (or equivalent) from an accredited CoARC program [transfer up to 80 credits toward this program]
- Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential, verified through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Database. Students must submit a copy of their NBRC verification.
- Complete at least 40 credits of general education. The following courses may be transferred into the degree in Respiratory Therapy to fulfill the general education requirements. Students may complete these requirements through the courses offered by Jefferson. Please contact the Program Director for more information. General Education courses must be completed prior to registering for 400-level courses.
- 9 credits of Humanities or Social Sciences
- 6 credits of Mathematics or Statistics
- 16 credits of Science
- 3 credits of English & Writing Intensive
- 6 Free General Education courses
- Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
