Nicole Hrbkova, BS ‘24

"Jefferson gave me a good base knowledge in Accounting which I used during my internships. I found my Federal Tax class really helpful for my job at a tax office, and my other accounting classes prepared me for the CPA exam ahead. I am glad that the University includes the Becker CPA Exam Prep Course as a part of the MBA in Accounting curriculum. I appreciate the opportunity to visit companies to see the day-to-day work of accountants, as well as network with professionals in the field thanks to the School of Business Discovery Program."

Greg Dawson, BS '20, MBA '21 CPA

Assurance Manager — Kreischer Miller, CPAs

“I chose Thomas Jefferson University because it was the right fit for me. I was a cross country and track runner for the Jefferson Rams. Not only was being on a NCAA DII team great, but so was the location of the school with the vast amount of running trails, local parks, restaurants/entertainment, and more. One of the best things about the Accounting program is that you have the option to continue on after you achieve your BS to get your MBA to obtain the 150 college credits necessary to become a CPA. I got the chance to learn from people in the field through clubs and career events too! The Accounting Society and Investment Club are great ways to become involved in your chosen field.”

Dina Noiseux, BS '20

Management Assistant — Enterprise Holdings

“Having the ability to specialize in my chosen field while getting the opportunities to collaborate with other fields of study is an experience not many schools have to offer. Choosing this University gave me more than I could have ever asked. It provided me with endless opportunities to succeed and allowed me to network and intern with companies I may not have ever had, such as, Stanley Black & Decker and Enterprise. I also chose Jefferson for their athletics. It was my goal to play at a school where I would not only be able to succeed in the classroom, but on the field as well, and that is exactly what I gained from the Women’s Soccer program here at Jefferson. Additionally, I was also able to hold the positions of Treasurer and Events Coordinator for the National Society of Leadership and Success, as well as being a member of the Student Athletic Advisory Committee. Holding these positions gave me a large amount of real-world experience.”

Kristina Herb, BS '13, MBA '14 CPA

Finance Analyst, Consolidations & Reporting — Verizon Finance Leadership

“I interned for Verizon in their Leadership Development Program for three summers in various locations such as Philadelphia, New Jersey, and Georgia. I also interned for CBIZ in their tax department for one busy season. I passed all four sections of the CPA exam in my first year working and I owed it all to Jefferson.”

Samantha (Wolf) Messer, BS '11, CPA

CEO — Chime CPA

“Since graduating, I worked in various positions in the accounting industry, between public and private, and settled down at my original home at Stephano Slack, where I am a proud new partner just shy of 10 years post-grad. I know, without a doubt, my decision to go to Jefferson is what led me to where I am today both personally and professionally. I look back on my college days fondly and often wish I could relive those days on that beautiful campus.”

Nancy (Beacham) Holdsworth, BS '93 CPA

Partner — PricewaterhouseCoopers

“I am a partner at PricehousewaterCoopers (now going on 15 years with a total of 27 years with PwC) and have been in varying practices, countries and roles within the firm. My college experience prepared me for the career of a lifetime, and I wouldn’t change a thing! I met friends for life, continued relationships with my accounting professors and continue to be a huge supporter of the University. It was home away from home and I still love driving through to see the significant changes to the campus. I’m jealous of those who are looking to attend Thomas Jefferson University in the current day, and it will prove to be the best decision a prospective student can make!”
