Curriculum

Built specifically for busy professionals, our online, asynchronous and flexible Bachelor of Science in Information Technology Management curriculum was built around the intersection between theory and practice to provide a practice-based approach to education.

The curriculum includes our general education core and business major courses covering all foundational business content as well as core communication and writing skills.

The degree also includes a combination of free electives and business selectives so students can select specific subject areas for completing a minor or developing an area of focus — such as business administration, organizational leadership or human resources management.

General Education Core (27 credits)

Students take courses in communication (oral and written), humanities, social science and statistics among other key areas. Sample coursework:

  • ENGX 110 – College Writing
  • ECNX 231 – Economic Decision-Making
  • MISX 211 – Management of Information Systems
  • STAX 211 – Finding and Evaluating Statistical Data

Information Technology Management Major (33 credits)

Students take business courses in areas such as accounting, finance, marketing, management, operations, human resources and data analytics. Information Technology (IT) specific coursework in systems analysis, cybersecurity, IT process and additional IT selectives are also included. Sample coursework:

Business Selectives (9 credits)

Students can use the business selectives to take additional coursework in organizational leadership, business, marketing, management, economics, information technology and more. Sample coursework:

Diversity and Globalization Selective (3 credits)

Students will select from a specific group of courses that focus on diversity and globalization in business. Sample coursework:

Free Electives (51 credits)

Students can use the free electives to take any course they choose across the entire Continuing & Professional Studies portfolio. Sample coursework:
