Community Advisory Board

What is the CAB?

An alliance of peers committed to the betterment of MATER as a whole.

CAB Mission Statement

As a client run advisory board, our mission is to serve as a liaison between leadership and the individuals they serve. Our goal is to improve MATER as a whole by incorporating our combined lived experience into collaboration with staff on what programs, research, and general needs are most beneficial to our community.

CAB Structure

There are six client appointed seats, one of which is the Client Co-Chair. The client seats rotate. There are three staff appointed seats, one seat is the Staff Co-Chair. One staff seat rotates. There is one community partner seat that rotates monthly.

CAB Activities:

  • Meet monthly to discuss client identified needs around clinical programming, as well as to provide feedback and insight into MATER related research and education.
  • Celebrate MATER events through engagement with clients and collaborating with MATER staff in planning and event related activities
  • Welcome new clients to assist in making the transition into treatment feel more comfortable and welcoming
  • Provide emotional support to any MATER clients in need of peer support
  • Bridge the gap between clients and staff
