Fieldwork is an opportunity for you to apply what you are learning in the classroom to everyday occupational therapy practice.

Our students say that their Fieldwork experiences are the highlight of their time at Thomas Jefferson University. Fieldwork, and for OTD students, the Doctoral Experiential, is an amazing opportunity for you to apply what you are learning in the classroom to everyday occupational therapy practice.

You will actively participate in treatment activities with practicing professionals and clients and begin to develop your understanding of occupational therapy practice. There are two levels of Fieldwork coordinated with your progress through the curriculum:

  • Level I Fieldwork experiences are your first exposures to fieldwork
  • Level II Fieldwork experiences, also called “Affiliations,” occur later in the curriculum
  • For OTD students, the Doctoral Experiential occurs in the third and final year of the curriculum

Level I & II: Fieldwork

Combine your classroom learning with practical experience in the field of occupational therapy.
