Sidney Kimmel Medical College
Department of Emergency Medicine
When Every Second Counts, You Can Make a Difference
In our dual role as an academic department at Jefferson Medical College and as a clinical department at Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals we support the following missions:
Patient Care: We pledge to provide the finest state of the art facilities and personal service to insure quality emergency care for each of our patients and their families.
Education: Our goal is to develop skilled and compassionate physicians through our residency training program. In the development of skilled and compassionate physicians, we strive for excellence in teaching the practice of emergency medicine to students, residents, fellows and faculty.
Research: We aim to improve emergency medical care by advancing knowledge through research in the laboratory and in the clinical environment.
Taking the Lead in Telehealth
Thomas Jefferson University is leading the nation’s adoption of telehealth with expansion in four key domains: outpatient care, transitions in care, inpatient care, and developed the National Academic Center for Telehealth. In this unique setting, students have the opportunity to train as both telehealth researchers and program leaders.
