Welcome to the Family

Welcome to the Thomas Jefferson University Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. We would like to take the opportunity to welcome you and to provide you with useful details to learn more about us, our amazing program, and our incredible residents.

Our residency program consists of five years of progressive clinical and surgical training in all aspects of Otolaryngology; this includes head and neck oncology, facial plastics and reconstructive surgery including microvascular free flap reconstructions, otology, rhinology, laryngology, pediatric otolaryngology, skull base surgery, sleep surgery, and allergy. Training is carried out under the supervision of our large, diverse and dedicated faculty at both Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia and the Alfred I. DuPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Delaware.

It is no secret that our program offers incredible surgical breadth and volume to ensure that our trainees are exceptionally well-trained. However, we foster further growth through our clinical training with leaders in the field and a plethora of research opportunities. In addition, and perhaps most importantly, our program is centered around a culture of teamwork and family. We feel that this vital aspect distinguishes our program from so many other exceptional, competitive programs throughout the country. Our culture of family is evident from the time our first-year residents step foot onto our campus, and extends indefinitely after graduation. It is fostered by a body of faculty who are truly committed to the education and well-being of our residents, and by recognizing the importance of recruiting a diverse group of individuals who bring a unique set of values and perspectives that enrich our residency program.

While this website provides comprehensive information about the structure and details of our program, it cannot convey the wonderful aspects and nuances that are intrinsic to Jefferson’s Otolaryngology residency. We hope that you will take the opportunity to reach out to us to get to know our program better, so that we can truly show you all we have to offer. If you are in search of a program where you will receive exceptional training over five happy, fulfilling years, look no further than Jefferson.
