Research & Teaching Opportunities

Residents are strongly encouraged and expected to investigate clinical and/or laboratory questions. The faculty are readily available to support the and mentor research projects, and the department supports travel to national meetings at which residents presenting.  The residency program is structured to facilitate up to six months of dedicated research during the residency program in accordance with the recommendations of the American Board of Pathology.  

There are a plethora of teaching opportunities at multiple levels, ranging from intradepartmental conferences to lecturing in one of the many schools that are part of Thomas Jefferson University.
