The Body MRI division is engaged in numerous research projects, including:
- Measuring hepatic lipid in nonalcoholic steatohepatitis
- Measuring hepatic iron in systemic iron overload
- Hepatocellular carcinoma diagnosis and treatment evaluation
- Liver metastases: perfusion imaging to predict and evaluate early response to chemotherapy
- Esophageal varices: accuracy of MRI compared with endoscopy
- Hepatorenal syndrome: MRI findings
- Ascites: MRI features of spontaneous bacterial peritonits
- Cholangiocarcinoma: MRI features
- Autoimmune liver disease: MRI features and differential diagnosis
- Renal Masses: benign versus malignant based on shape of interface with the liver
- Liver measurement: validation of linear versus volumetric measurements
- IVC encirclement by hypertrophied caudate lobe
- Adenomyosis: MRI and sonohysterography findings
