Application Process

We are NOT currently accepting applications. We only accept one fellow every two years. 

Our Program selects only from among the pool of eligible applicants and evaluates each applicant on the basis of their preparedness, ability, academic credentials, communication skills and personal qualities such as motivation, honesty and integrity. The program does not discriminate with regard to sex, race, age, religion, color, national origin, disability or veteran status.

Applicants must apply through the American Society of Transplant Surgeons sponsored NRMP matching program. Please visit the ASTS website for application requirements and matching schedule dates.

Applicants must fulfill all of the qualifications for appointment as outlined by the institution:

  • Have completed at least five years of general surgery residency training
  • Be board certified by the American Board of Surgery or equivalent
  • Have an unrestricted Pennsylvania medical license before starting fellowship. Please visit the PA State Board of Medicine website for PA medical license application requirements for foreign medical graduates. Applicants who are not eligible or qualified to obtain an unrestricted PA medical license may not apply.
