Personal Support & Student Wellness Resources
The deans in the Office of Student Affairs & Career Counseling (OSACC) serve as a resource for students experiencing personal issues that are impacting their ability to engage with the curriculum. The office also promotes student wellbeing through a variety of wellness activities throughout the year.
For free and confidential personal counseling services, medical students have access to the services of mental health professionals through Jefferson’s Student Counseling Center (SCC). The mission of the SCC is to support the emotional health and well-being of all Jefferson students and promote the overall wellness of the campus community through counseling, consultation, and outreach. The SCC assists students in identifying problems early, promotes efforts towards wellness and balance, and helps students to learn skills which will help them to effectively meet their career and life goals. The SCC is located at 33 S. 9th Street, Suite 230, Philadelphia, PA 19107, and can be reached at 215-503-2817 or 215-955-HELP.
Additional information about services provided at the Student Counseling Center (SCC) can be found on the SCC website.
Students have access to the Jefferson Recreation & Fitness Center (JRFC), our multipurpose fitness and recreation facility. The university’s Office of Student Life & Engagement manages the JRFC and offers a variety of recreational programs and services to our students.
