Capstone Project
A culminating experience, the capstone project provides an opportunity for students to demonstrate their mastery of the program's core competencies.
Working with a faculty mentor, students will research, develop, and present an original research project related to the emergency and disaster management profession.

Partners & Affiliations
Immaculata University
Thomas Jefferson University and Immaculata University have a standing agreement that offers Immaculate University, Emergency Planning and Management graduates, Public Health undergraduates, and other undergraduate program graduates with an Emergency Planning and Management minor to receive credit for EDM 610 – Foundations in Emergency Management graduate course. This credit can be applied towards any of the Emergency and Disaster Management graduate courses.
Professional Organizations
Jefferson has a student chapter in the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM). The cost to join the University's chapter is at a discounted rate. This is an important network to establish and has many resources that you can use as a student.

Admission Requirements
Applicants to the MS in Emergency and Disaster Management Program must hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with a minimum of a 3.0 GPA. Additional requirements include a professional resume or CV and a personal essay outlining relevant experiences and reasons for pursuing a graduate degree in emergency and disaster management.
