Your HIPAA Training & Safety Training pre-matriculation requirement will be completed through an online course in Canvas. There are two modules that must be completed for HIPAA Training and three modules that must be completed for Safety Training.

1. To access the Jefferson Students HIPAA & Safety Training course, you will go to Canvas.
2. Next, click on “Campus Key Login” and then enter your Jefferson campus key and password.
   
   NOTE: If you do not yet have a campus key assigned, you will not be able to access Canvas (and the HIPAA & Safety Training) until your campus key is generated.
3. Once you are logged in, you will see your Canvas “Dashboard,” which will display any courses you are enrolled in.
4. Incoming students have already been manually enrolled in the HIPAA & Safety Training course by our office, and should be able to see it in their Dashboard. Just click on the “Jefferson Students HIPAA & Safety Training (JSHST 23-24)” course, which will take you to the home page of the course.
   
   NOTE: If you are not able to see the course, please email us at StudentLife@jefferson.edu for assistance.
5. From the course home page, read the information and then begin to progress through each module. All components of the course must be completed successfully in order to satisfy your HIPAA & Safety pre-matriculation requirement.
6. Your “SH” hold will be manually removed by the Office of Student Life & Engagement upon successful completion of the HIPAA & Safety Training. Please note that the hold can take up to one week to be removed from your account.
