Rental Agreement
Jefferson agrees to provide locker service to current students. By completing a locker rental application, the student agrees to abide by the rules and regulations outlined in this contract. Failure to comply will result in a minimum $25.00 fee and/or the loss of rights to locker rental for the upcoming rental period(s) – either the combined summer/fall period or spring period.
The Office of Student Life & Engagement (OSLE) is not responsible for items stored in lockers nor in the locker room, but does reserve the right to enter the locker room and the locker without advance notice to the student and report and/or remove items in violation of this contract. All items and possessions must be stored within the student’s assigned locker. Students are not permitted to store anything outside of the general locker room space, including the space above lockers and the floor. The student agrees that he/she will not place in a locker any library materials that he/she has not properly checked out from the circulation desk. The student also agrees that he/she will not place any unlawful items or items which violate university policy, including, but not limited to, drugs, weapons, stolen property, hazardous materials, and other contraband. Additionally, the student agrees to not store perishable food/products in the locker.
Students are NOT permitted to change the locks used on their locker for any reason without prior written approval from OSLE. The provided combination lock or key lock must remain on the locker at all times. A fee of $25.00 will be charged for a lost combination lock, key, or use of a personal lock.
The term of locker use begins when the locker is assigned to the student and is effective for a period no greater than four months. Rental periods will vary each academic year. Students will be made aware of the rental period, including the expiration date, at the time of application.
Students may have the option to renew their locker for another four-month period. Renewal periods will be announced to current student renters via email. Locker renewals are not guaranteed and will be governed by the most current locker policy in effect at the time renewal is sought.
If the student does not take action to renew their locker term, OSLE will reclaim the locker at the end of the current rental period. There will be a one-week grace period at the end of each rental period before the locker is reclaimed by OSLE. If the student fails to empty and clean the locker prior to the end of the grace period, any remaining items will be disposed of by OSLE and a $25.00 fee will be charged. Should the student cease to be enrolled at Thomas Jefferson University, at any point, the locker will immediately revert to OSLE, and any items in the locker will be disposed of.
