Applying
Applicants to the PhD Program in Molecular Physiology & Translational Medicine are expected to have a solid background in the biological sciences and chemistry. They should demonstrate an aptitude for and dedication to a career in research, as evidenced by initiatives taken in college, summer research internships and/or post-baccalaureate experience.
Most successful applicants have taken classes in general and organic chemistry, physics, biochemistry and molecular biology. However, otherwise highly-qualified applicants who have not taken these courses will still be considered for acceptance. Previous laboratory research experience is highly desirable but not required.
The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is optional. Students can submit these scores along with a complete application to the Jefferson College of Life Sciences. Applications, including transcripts, GRE scores and three letters of recommendation, are reviewed by the Molecular Physiology & Translational Medicine Program Admissions committee.
